New Global Head of Capital Markets for DTZ
Serkan Bektas has been appointed Global Head of Capital Markets at DTZ, a leading global property adviser.
Serkan, who will join the company by the second quarter of 2009, was Managing Director of UK Solutions and Structured Product Sales at Barclays Capital. Previously he worked as Chief Operating Officer, Global Investment Banking Division of Barclays Capital.
The appointment follows DTZ's presentation to analysts on 19 December 2008, which unveiled plans to re-shape the executive management team, with a specific focus on financial performance and management discipline.
Serkan will oversee the strategy and operations of DTZ's three regional Capital Markets business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Asia-Pacific and The Americas. He will report into Paul Idzik, DTZ Group Chief Executive.
Paul Idzik said: "Serkan brings a wealth of experience working with pension funds, insurers and fund managers and will be a valuable addition to DTZ's executive committee. His background in risk management and capital market solutions will ensure we continue to deliver innovative world-class business advice to our clients."
Serkan said: "I am delighted to join a leading commercial property firm with such a strong reputation for understanding clients' business aims, spotting the right opportunities and delivering commercial results. I am impressed by the commitment and professionalism of the people at DTZ and look forward to joining them."
Serkan was educated at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA.
