Multi opens Forum Ústí nad Labem
Multi’s Forum Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, biggest shopping and leisure centre in the region, opened to a massive crowd of visitors.

Forum Ústí nad Labem is in the centre of the city in the area of the formerly run down Markethall close to the historic church of Nanebevzetí pany Marie. The project has restored and completed the original urban pattern of the town (sadly damaged by the war and neglect) and revitalises the square in front of the church. The concept was inspired by the medieval town walls with town gates and reflects the original block development by dividing the project with a new version of an original Bílinská street. It recreates a lively, pulsing environment in the town centre.

A cable car will shortly connect the Forum with Chateau Vetruše on the opposite hill. It will have a length of 300m and bring visitors in less than 3 minutes to the top of the hill directly from the shopping centre, for magnificent views over the city of Ústi, the Labe river and its surroundings.

Forum Ústí nad Labem offers more than 100 shops, restaurants & cafes on 27,000 sqm. The project is bringing many new retailers to Ústí, strenghtening its position as the regional shopping destination. Brands such as H&M, Lindex, Douglas, Camaieu, Celio, Pimkie, Tally Weijl, Jeans Club and Giga Sport will be presented for the first time to the region.Billa supermarket is the food anchor with an area of 1200 sqm. Many popular brands such as Euronics, Vero Moda, Tom Tailor, A3 sport, Humanic, DM drugstore and others will add to the wide offer. Palace Cinemas, with 5 screens, will open in spring next year.

The project has 640 new parking places. The position in the heart of town, just steps from the train and bus stations; guarantees excellent accessibility from the town and region. In the catchment area of 400,000 inhabitants, Forum Ústí nad Labem will create 400-600 direct jobs.

Total investment in Forum Ústí nad Labem was 1,74 bln CZK / €68 Million.

Mr Ronald Dasbach, Managing Director of Multi Development Central Europe, said: “This project is very important for Ústí nad Labem as it will increase the attractiveness of the city centre. Shopping is one of the main reasons for people to go to the inner city. Without a well functioning inner city the city loses its heart. And without a heart the city loses its soul. Secondly, this project will strengthen the position of Ústí as the shopping destination for the region. Customers don’t need to drive to Prague anymore to find a good shopping offer.

We are pleased that the city authorities appreciated the importance of this project for the good functioning of the inner city and are grateful for all their support”.
