Mediaservis sold its warehouse in Prague
Another investment transaction was closed on the Czech industrial market between end-users directly. Thanks to unique opportunities that emerge in the current market environment, end-users often proceed to acquisitions of production and warehouse premises for their own use.
Mediaservis, the largest Czech alternative post services provider, has sold its warehouse in Prague 10 – Malesice to telecommunication holding TTC. Total usable area of the building exceeds 3,700 sq m for warehousing, 400 sq m of offices and additional 1,000 sq m that may be used for special equipment. The transaction again confirms that the economic situation of many end-users is not that bad. “We see many companies on the industrial market, which have not been significantly hit by the economic crisis. Such companies often take advantage of the interesting investment opportunities that arise within the current market,” says Simona Cerna from the Colliers International Industrial department.
Mediaservis, which apart from postal services also provides direct mailing and telemarketing services, could not find suitable use for their building. The older warehouse no longer met the requirements of top distribution services. “Mediaservis has moved to new premises in Horni Pocernice in April 2009. These premises were built by VGP to suit the needs of Mediaservis and their partner PNS,” describes Simona Cerna from Colliers International, a real estate consultancy company that negotiated both transactions. The main reason behind the relocation was the insufficient capacity of the old warehouse in Malesice. Agreement with PNS, which was signed in 2007, started negotiations and real project works on a joint distribution center in VGP Park Horni Pocernice. “The merger of premises of both companies who complement each other in terms of their business activities, helped them to achieve a synergy effect as well as significant fixed costs savings,” concludes Cerna.
TTC will use these premises for further development of their information and telecommunication services.
