King Sturge wins Hermes’ top Award for Sustainability
The King Sturge Asset Management Team was also commended with nominations for individual awards in other categories
The Asset Management Team responsible for the management of the Hermes Real Estate portfolio has been awarded the prestigious top award of “Commercial Property Manager” of the Year at Hermes’ annual Responsible Property Investment Awards.
The Team including surveyors and KSM staff from London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh offices beat off competition from other major property management firms to win the Award at a presentation ceremony on 7th November 2008 held at the Haberdashers' Hall, London.
The Award was given for the work carried out in areas including energy and water conservation, waste management and sustainability on the Industrial and Regional Office portfolios.
Hermes’ articulates its approach to sustainability and the environment through a set of principles known as Responsible Property Investment (“RPI”). Hermes state that RPI is an investment approach that recognises and addresses the environmental, social and economic risks and opportunities associated with the ownership and management of property assets. Hermes believes that a responsible approach to sustainability enhances their profile and that it will have an impact on future value of their assets.
Hermes Real Estate is one of the largest real estate managers in the UK, with in excess of £12 billion of gross assets under management (at 31 March 2008). Furthermore Hermes regularly features in the top of list of key Clients to King Sturge; consequently congratulations go out to all of those involved in winning this prestigious Award.
