GoodLife Makes It Easy For Number Crunchers To Tighten Their Belts!

A new 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art GoodLife Fitness club will open in early 2011 in the heart of downtown Toronto bringing the total number of GoodLife clubs to over 60 in the GTA alone and 275 nation-wide.

This two-story club, located at 137 Yonge Street, between Adelaide and Richmond, is conveniently located in the city’s financial district and close to a growing residential condo development. The club promises to reflect the vibe and energy of this booming area.

“We are committed to continual investment in downtown Toronto,” said David Patchell-Evans, GoodLife Founder & CEO. “We want to keep building world-class facilities in the nation’s biggest city to provide the greatest convenience and best staff and programs for our members.”

“This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for GoodLife to locate themselves in a strategic central location at the doorstep of Toronto’s financial district, immediately adjacent to Toronto’s underground PATH network, and steps away from Bay Adelaide Centre Toronto's largest and newest AAA office complex. This was really a marquee real estate decision which allows GoodLife the opportunity to create a strong branding message for the company, exclusive high-profile signage possibilities, and a great curb profile on both Yonge Street and Victoria Street,” notes Tim Bristow, Senior Vice President and real estate broker at Colliers International.

The new club will offer a spacious environment that feature two levels of the latest cardiovascular and strength training equipment, along with the popular cardio theatre entertainment system with plasma TV’s. Additional features will include best-in-class Group Exercise and Cycling Studios and classes, exceptional Personal Training services and elite member-focused staff.

“I feel that 137 Yonge Street is a perfect location for GoodLife Fitness because it has the ‘vibe and ambiance’ of Yonge Street, yet it’s in the heart of the financial district,” said Mr. Clemens Sels, President, CTL Group. “GoodLife and their representatives were refreshingly straightforward and focused throughout the leasing process. GoodLife knows how to get a deal done downtown. They know their clients and they know what works in the Urban Market. This is surprisingly rare among large retailers who often seem to be struggling with how to harness the growing urban consumer market.”

The new GoodLife also boasts the ‘only at GoodLife’ edgy Les Mills group exercise programs, considered the best in the world, introducing members to popular programs such as BodyFlow (yoga moves), BodyJam (dance based exercise to great music) and RPM (indoor cycling). Additional services include personal training and a virtual reality fitness and health assessment tool called the Visual Fitness Planner.
