DTZ appoints Menno Maas as CEO for CEMEA

DTZ, a major global real estate adviser, is pleased to announce the appointment of Menno Maas to the role of Chief Executive Officer for Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA).
Menno will be responsible for DTZ’s operations across 24 CEMEA markets. The region contributed over 25 per cent to DTZ Group revenues for the six month period to 31 October 2009. Based in The Netherlands, Menno will join the business, and the DTZ Executive Committee, reporting to Paul Idzik, Group Chief Executive on 1 June 2010.
Menno brings over 25 years property sector experience to DTZ. Prior to joining the Company, he was Chief Executive Officer, ING Real Estate Development (ING RED) and a member of its Management Board. Under his management, ING RED grew into a European market leader with a €9 billion development portfolio across 10 countries in Europe. Between 2008 and early 2010, when he left the company, Menno led the restructuring and integration of this business into ING Wholesale Banking.
Between 2000 and 2006, Menno was Managing Director of Amvest, a leading Dutch real estate investment fund with over €3 billion in property investments.
Previous experience includes project, acquisition and portfolio roles at PGGM, the leading Dutch pension fund, and ABN AMRO Project Development BV.
Commenting on the appointment, Paul Idzik, DTZ’s Group Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to add Menno to the team. His deep understanding of the markets, and history of client focus, will add weight to our intent to increase the rate of growth in Europe and the Middle East.”
Menno Maas added: “I am excited about the opportunity this role presents and look forward to embracing the challenge of taking our business in the region to the next level.”
