CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD’S CAPITAL MARKETS DEPARTMENT. A TEAM OF EXPERIENCED AND COMPLEMENTARY PROFESSIONALS
For many years now, Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets Department has been among the prominent players in the landscape of professional real estate. At the beginning of 2011, the team underwent a true metamorphosis aiming at strengthening its position, and widening its client portfolio. The result of this metamorphosis is a department with eleven members complementing each other in terms of expertise and experience, both inside and outside the firm.

Maxime Xantippe joined the department earlier this year as Partner and Head of Capital Markets for Belgium. Maxime enters Cushman & Wakefield with an impressive experience in professional real estate, gained at CBRE, where he previously led the Capital Markets Department for both Belgium and Luxembourg. Among significant transactions closed by Maxime are the sale of IT Tower, Covent Garden, Crown Avenue, Astro Tower, K Point in Luxembourg, Espace Saint-Michel, and Stadsfeestzaal.

Arnaud de Bergeyck brought Cushman & Wakefield to the top of the investment market. After joining the Retail Agency Department in 1996, he switched to Retail Investment in 2001, where he specialised in the acquisition, the sale and the letting of high street properties, an area dominated by Cushman & Wakefield since then. Among Arnaud’s most striking transactions are the sale of Gent Zuid, and the sale of the Adrienne site, on the Toison d’Or.

In addition to his functions of Managing Partner for Cushman & Wakefield Belgium and Luxembourg, Koen Nevens remains very active in Capital Markets as well, where he more specifically focuses on peripheral retail. Koen gained 17 years of experience in that field, with, for the last five years, a particular stress on investments. Among other deals, Koen advised the sale of B-Park, Hydrion, and several portfolios from, and at, Retail Estates and Ascencio.

Similarly, Eric Peeters, who joined the firm in 1980, is a strong and faithful player within the department. Specialised in the office and logistics sectors, at both national and international levels, Eric advised countless landlords in their selling or letting strategy of professional real estate properties.

Bart Joosten entered the team through internal promotion. Having started his career at Cushman & Wakefield in 2007, within the Valuation department, Bart switched to Retail Investment in 2010, where he has been achieving tremendous performances for more than a year now. Bart holds a Master in Applied Economics. His previous experience includes an external auditor position within the Audit and Business Risk Services at Ernst & Young.

After graduating from Law school, and a strong experience of four years in the financial sector as an International Management Trainee and Corporate Relationship Manager for larger businesses in the Brussels area at ING, Marc-Antoine Buysschaert joined the department in August 2010. He specialises in the office market within the Investment Department.

After a brief detour within the Valuation Department at CBRE, Michael Despiegelaere is back at Cushman & Wakefield since 11 April. Michael had previously been active as a surveyor within Cushman & Wakefield, where he had provided financial advisory to a large amount of major players in the professional real estate market. Michael graduated from Solvay Business School.

Stijn Thomas joined the team on 18 April. Stijn holds a diploma in Commercial Sciences and Financial Management, and started his career three years ago, as an Investment Analyst at PWC. In a first phase, Stijn will focus on cash-flow analysis and financial information.

Of course, the Department’s achievements would never be made possible without the daily commercial support of Natacha Wilkin (21 years at Cushman & Wakefield), Isabelle de Wasseige (23 years at Cushman & Wakefield) and Ilse Nouwen (15 years at Cushman & Wakefield).
