CBRE'S Charlotte Eddington Scoops Women in the City Award
CB Richard Ellis’ EMEA Head of Energy and Sustainability, Charlotte Eddington has won the 2009 Women in the City Awards (Property & Facilities Management category).

The Awards were introduced in 2007 and focus on the achievements of partner and senior management women working in professional services within London's financial hubs (The City, Canary Wharf and the West End). Attracting high calibre candidates from across London, the hotly contested awards aims to highlight and formally recognise the outstanding contribution these women make to the City. There are seven award categories in total.

Charlotte is one of most successful young women in the UK property industry and was made Director at CBRE age 27, one of the youngest ever within the company. She currently Chairs a number of sustainability working groups and holds committee positions with the CBI, British Property Federation, UK Green Building Council and the Managing Partners Forum. Outside of work, Charlotte has pursued charity interests including undertaking a race to the magnetic north pole.

In receiving the award Charlotte said: “I am delighted to be recognised for my achievements in energy and sustainability and have really enjoyed working with clients in the property industry to help reduce their impacts and manage the risks associated with the climate change and energy security.”

Gwen Rhys, Chief Executive and founder of Women in the City, said: “Women continue to play an important role in the City of London and our awards scheme is designed to celebrate their efforts, focus attention on the work they are doing, and to encourage the next generation of female leaders to rise to the challenge.”

Charlotte will receive her award today at a ceremony on 29th October at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge hosted by Jaguar. The overall winner of the Jaguar Woman of Achievement Award Winner will be announced at the Women in the City Annual Luncheon on Friday 27th November.

The Awards judging panel is chaired by Prof Susan Vinnicombe, OBE, Director of the International Centre for Women Leaders at Cranfield School of Management.
