CB Richard Ellis Continues Global Pledge to Earth Hour 2010
CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) has again signed up its support for the World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) Earth Hour 2010, which will take place in more than 4,000 cities in 116 countries on Saturday, 27th March at 8:30 p.m local time.
Globally, the Earth Hour initiative will be encouraged throughout CBRE-managed buildings and offices in North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. In the UK the lights will be turned out in over 1,134,971 sq ft of managed space.
In 2007, CBRE became the first commercial real estate services company to announce a commitment to become carbon neutral in its own operations. In addition, CBRE is assisting property owners and occupiers with energy efficiency programs at building space it manages around the world. As the leading commercial real estate services firm, CBRE is uniquely positioned to influence participation in Earth Hour around the world.
“Taking part in Earth Hour is all about encouraging sustainable awareness,” said Mark Creamer, Deputy Managing Director for CB Richard Ellis in the UK.
“CBRE will encourage Earth Hour observance across all ten UK offices – Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Southampton.”
“Additionally, as the leading property management agency in the UK, CBRE has arranged for the following buildings to take part in the campaign."
